The Guards in their traditional red coats are one of the iconic images of London.

My objective here was to capture the essence of the Grenadier Guard Uniform while avoiding the sentry on guard cliche.

For this I chose to isolate just the detail of the red uniform and the weapon to show that here is a serving soldier and not just a ceremonial figure.

I used my 75-300 IS Canon Zoom handheld with the image stabilization turned on.
